In 2025, the Fira Gata al Carrer will celebrate its 20th edition, reaffirming its place as the leading open-air trade fair in the Marina Alta region. Year after year, this event transforms the streets of Gata de Gorgos into a vibrant showcase of tradition, craftsmanship, gastronomy, and culture, usually held on the weekend closest to October 9th, the Day of the Valencian Community.

Over the past two decades, the fair has stayed true to its roots: highlighting local products and giving visibility to everything that makes our town unique. Visitors can enjoy a gastronomic experience with authentic local flavors such as raisins, mistela, traditional cocas, pa socarrat, and artisanal sausages prepared by the village butchers.

Craftsmanship is another of the fair’s cornerstones: workshops in cane and palm weaving, chair cord-making, and other traditional trades that keep our heritage alive. Alongside this, the crafts and gastronomy market showcases handmade products filled with authenticity and care.

Culture also plays a major role with art exhibitions, live music, traditional dances, and workshops that invite participation and enjoyment. And of course, the youngest visitors have their own dedicated space, with children’s attractions and a petting farm that guarantees fun for the whole family.

For its 20th anniversary, the Fira Gata al Carrer aims to go even further: staying true to tradition while embracing new ideas and innovation. More than just an event, it strengthens the commercial and social fabric of Gata de Gorgos, attracts visitors from across the Valencian Community, and has established itself as an unmissable date on the region’s festive calendar.
