This October 11 and 12, Gata de Gorgos will once again be filled with life, tradition, and creativity at Fira Gata al Carrer 2025. More than an event, it is a celebration of our culture, and craftsmanship will be, as always, one of the main attractions.

Craftsmanship in Gata is not just a trade — it’s a living story passed down through generations. This year, we want visitors not only to see artisan work but to experience it live.

Llata: tradition and pride

Llata, the woven esparto grass that is synonymous with Gata de Gorgos, will take center stage at the fair. Visitors will enjoy demonstrations of how llata is worked, from chair weaving to traditional techniques that have made this craft a local heritage. Skilled artisans will share their knowledge, turning llata into more than just a material — a story woven by expert hands.

Art al Vent: art flying through the streets

The magic of Art al Vent will return to Carrer Signes, where traditional mantons (shawls) will hang from balconies, filling the streets with color, tradition, and creativity. A unique exhibition that transforms our streets into an open-air gallery where craftsmanship and art meet in perfect harmony.

Craft techniques to discover

At Fira Gata al Carrer 2025, there will be demonstrations of many traditional crafts:

  • Malla and macramé: an invitation to discover the beauty of knots and weaving.
  • Bolillo lace: delicate stitches that keep a centuries-old technique alive.
  • Crochet: the perfect mix of tradition and modernity.

Each demonstration will be an opportunity to learn, be amazed, and appreciate the dedication behind each handcrafted piece. Visitors can also speak directly with artisans, discover curiosities about their processes, and acquire unique handmade items.

Craftsmanship at Fira Gata al Carrer is not just an exhibition: it is a sensory experience that connects past and present, tradition and creativity. An essential date for those who love handmade art and want to take home not just an object, but a story.
