From 9th to 11th October, Gata de Gorgos will once again turn its streets into a great showcase of local shops, craftsmanship, food, culture and tradition with the 21st Fira Gata al Carrer.
Three days to walk around, shop, taste local products, discover traditional crafts, enjoy live music and experience everything that makes Gata such a special place.
The fair will start on Friday 9th October at 4 pm and run until around 8 pm. On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th, the fair will be open from 10 am to 8 pm.
Gata comes out onto the streets
Throughout the weekend, local businesses and craftspeople will take their products outside, showcasing the wide variety of shops and traditional trades found in Gata.
Fashion, accessories, jewellery, optical shops, decoration, crafts and traditional products will share the streets with exhibitions, demonstrations and activities.
And, of course, the Carretera de Gata will once again be an essential stop for discovering the town’s traditional craft shops.
Taste Gata
Food will once again play an important role in the fair.
Butchers, bakeries, bars and restaurants will showcase some of the flavours and products that are part of local gastronomy, together with specialities such as artisan honey and craft beer from Cerveseros Gateros.
And one of the most traditional activities will be back: the traditional buñuelos prepared by the Sant Antoni Committee.
Music, activities and much more
The fair will also have its own soundtrack, with live music, performances, workshops and activities for all ages.
CODA will take part in the programme with music and children’s workshops, together with gospel singing.
Fashion will also take centre stage with the traditional Autumn-Winter 2026/2027 fashion show, showcasing the latest trends from participating local shops.
Keeping tradition alive
One of the things that makes Fira Gata al Carrer special is the important role given to craftsmanship and traditional skills.
The lace-making and llata gatherings, craft demonstrations, exhibitions and the traditional handmade bedspreads displayed on balconies are a reminder that many of Gata’s traditions are still very much alive.
Because the fair is not only about shopping.
It is about walking.
Discovering.
Meeting people.
And showing who we are.
