The 21st Fira Gata al Carrer will once again celebrate some of the traditions and crafts that are part of the history of Gata de Gorgos. This year, two very special gatherings will also take place: the Llata Gathering on Saturday and the Bobbin Lace Gathering on Sunday.
Two activities open to anyone who shares a passion for these traditional techniques and wants to enjoy a different morning, meet other enthusiasts and, above all, help keep these traditions alive.
🌾Saturday 10: Llata Gathering
Llata, the traditional weaving of natural fibres, is closely linked to the history and craftsmanship of Gata. For generations, materials such as palm fibres have been used to create baskets, bags, hats and many other objects that are part of the town’s identity.
The Llata Gathering is an opportunity for people who practise this technique to meet, share knowledge and enjoy a morning celebrating a tradition that is still very much alive.

🧵 Sunday 11: Bobbin Lace Gathering
On Sunday, it will be the turn of bobbin lace, a traditional technique that continues to bring together enthusiasts from different generations.
With bobbins, thread and skilful hands, delicate patterns and designs are created. It is an activity that requires patience and precision, but it is also a wonderful way to share an interest, meet other people and enjoy the craft together.
The Bobbin Lace Gathering will take place on Sunday morning as part of the Fira.
